An executive penthouse occupying the 1st and 2nd floor of the prestigious Glaslyn Bridge apartments, with fantastic views across Porthmadog harbour. Beautifully presented with a large master bedroom with its own enclosed balcony.

This apartment was in an excellent location for 4 train enthusiasts with stunning views over the harbour. The apartment was well equipped although we were surprised that 'towels' did not include for the kitchen - fortunately my wife had brought some. The negatives we will take away did not spoil our stay but feel they need to be addressed:-
The bed in the master bedroom was creaky and both the mattress and pillows have surely seen better days.
The socket extension and small shelf at side of the bed were very badly placed and the cable channeling to this socket had come out of the wall with the tack was pointing towards the bed! We left this exactly as we had found it.
The rug in the living room we deemed to be a trip hazard as 2 of the 4 of us tripped on it, it is very lightweight and slid easily when walked on even though we tried to anchor it down with the sofas.
Some enjoyment of the view was spoiled due to the state of the window in the dining area and the sliding door to the balcony was very difficult to close.
Despite these observations and assuming the major ones had been resolved I would not hesitate to return for another enjoyable break.

This two-storey apartment is huge! Clean and very well equipped, perfect for 4-6 friends or family! Beautiful location with enclosed balconies on both floors (off the living room downstairs, and the master bedroom upstairs) which give a superb view of the harbour, without the inevitable wind/rain! Porthmadog has several nice pubs/restaurants within walking distance, and Aldi/Lidl/Tesco about 5 mins drive away. Surprisingly central for the north coast (Caernarfon, Llandudno, Anglesey), and of course the main attraction, Snowdonia. Ffestiniog steam railway is literally on your doorstep, with several routes into the mountains, and even up to Caernarfon, stopping right by the castle.

This property was an absolute joy, apart from a few niggles at the beginning (which STS sorted very quickly), everything was near to perfect. The kitchen was fully equipped with everything needed, the instructions for appliances were easy to find, there was a choice of games and DVDS (which could have done with a few more kids ones) but the TV had iPlayer so no issue. When I looked at the photos on the listing I reckoned they hand been photo shopped. I was wrong. We stayed in bright sunshine and those photo's are representative of the view, you can even see Harlech Castle across the bay. The location is incredibly handy for the town, you can walk to a supermarket in around 15 mins, or a little Spar in more like 10. The extra toilet on the lower level was very handy. If you have a big car the parking space is quite a fiddle when the other flats are taken, but we managed. I don't want to review this property too well or it might get booked up for when we want to go next, but honestly met all our expectations, and STS were always there if we got stuck. 4.9 stars!

Rooms were all clean and comfy. The communal spaces were lovely. The only very minor issues were that there needed to be more tea towels and cleaning stuff. Also all the beds were on wheels so that was a bit odd.

Larger than expected - plenty of space.
Well equiped and comfortable.
Location could not be better.
Welcome pack included milk, welshcakes, tea, coffee and small amount of cleaning materials.
Previous reviews mentioned damp "indoor" balconies needing refurbishment. This must have been done as they were clean and bright.
Minor issues:
No hand towels in kitchen or downstairs toilet but there were for bedrooms.
No bath mats for showers
Small leak from shower door in main bathroom
Newel post cap at top of stairs needs fixing.
Had good food and service at Spooners Restaurant at the Festiniog Railway Station opposite.
We enjoyed our short stay (helped by unexpected good weather) and would recommend this property to others.

We really enjoyed staying in this property. The location and view from the apartment is amazing. It is very well equipped (kitchen, games, puzzles, books, information and instructions). Certain things are a bit dated but clean nevertheless, although toilet door was rather mucky when we checked in. We reported this to the office and they offered to get the cleaner to come and fix it. The semi outdoor areas suffer from damp unfortunately - a bit unsightly but ok. The beds and pillows are very soft unfortunately and my body and neck/shoulder didn't like it much. Location wise it is very centre to amenities and the steam train station (as well as the harbour of course) so we can go for nice walks locally without having to drive and get stocked up for food by foot.

Overall it was a very nice accommodation. I would've preferred certain enhancement but we had a lovely time staying there.

Our 2nd visit to River's Edge, and the flat was as well-equipped and cosy as we remembered it. Everything we needed (and more) was there, and the Economy 7 heating provided ample warmth even in a rather dreary week. The views are as spectacular as ever and provide an ever-changing backdrop during the daytime. We'd love to return!

We have stayed numerous times in this property and hope to visit again .
The location would be difficult to beat,overlooking the Harbour on the edge of town yet in easy reach of everything it offers.
Within an hour or so visit Anglesey,Llandudno or Betws-y -Coed.
The perfect spot !

This apartment occupies arguably the very best spot in Porthmadog for a holiday experience. The views across the harbour are superb, even at night with lights twinkling on the water. From the side and back windows there is more water and mountain scenery to enjoy, and of course views of the steam trains as they leave or return to the station, which is next door - a few seconds walk away. The seating in the lounge and bedroom is well placed to enjoy all the views, day and night. Right on the edge of the High Street, so lots of facilities nearby, with Tesco, Aldi and Lidl at the other end of town, and a number of cafes and pubs a few minutes walk away. One star deducted for comfort, simply because the bare floors do mean that the lounge and bedroom lack any feeling of cosiness, especially during cold or bad weather - a large rug in the lounge would make an enormous difference. That said, the location and views make up for it and if planning a trip to Snowdonia, this apartment is a very desirable option.

A well equipped flat in an excellent position with plenty of space within the flat , the views across the harbour and the proximity to the Festiniog railway make it well worth a visit for families.

Well positioned, well equipped, spacious, airy, comfortable but not cosy. Could be chilly in winter. Surface clean, underlying some attention needed, cobwebs, shower drains etc.
In the town centre, opposite the Ffestiniog railway station. Several cafes within walking distance, we ate in the apartment quite a lot, cooking equipment and crockery ample for 6.

In a week of very wet weather we really appreciated the location & comfort of River's Edge. Very well equipped (we cooked on 5 nights) and close to pretty much everything. On downpour days it was interesting to watch the comings and goings in the harbour...although windscreen wipers might have been useful on a couple of occasions! Lots of helpful tips from the owner, and good service from STS. The keycode box is not the most user-friendly, but that was our only small gripe. We hope to return.

Have stayed here many times, good to see main bedroom is now totally en-suite and balconies have been much improved with new flooring and furniture.

We enjoyed a lovely week at Porthmadog. The weather was fabulous which I appreciate is influential in our experience but the apartment was very comfortable and best equipped holiday accommodation we’ve ever stayed at. The view is fantastic which you never tire of. We will hopefully return.

The property was in excellent condition except for the wind whistling through the upstairs ceiling.

Unfortunately there was scaffolding around the building whilst we were there which marred the view and as it was very windy for 3-4 days, the noise was quite frightening especially at night time when trying to sleep.

That said the rest of the penthouse was very well equipped and every effort had been made to ensure a happy stay.

This is our second stay in this apartment .it has everything you could possibly need to make your holiday excellent position for all local attractions we used the local buses and trains which are all close by ,the view over the harbour from this apartment is probably the best on the wharf we would highly recommend this apartment you will not be dissappointed

My friends and I have stayed in this apartment several times over the last few years. It is very roomy and well laid out, with great views over Porthmadog harbor. It is a short walk into town, and right opposite the Ffestiniog and Welsh Highland Railways station. It's only a short drive into the Snowdonia National Park and surrounding area. We will certainly be booking again.

You really cannot get a better location than this. Beautiful views of the harbour from the lounge and bedroom and you can walk to the train station in seconds! The apartment was very spacious and well equipped, it has a huge kitchen with everything you could possibly need on holiday. Wifi wasn't great but that is being updated this year I believe. Really lovely flat, would definitely stay again.
